The 2022 harvest, was overall a good year. Bud break and flowering occurred at the normal time, and a cool spring with milder-than-normal temperatures boosted growers’ expectations for high quality and abundant tonnage. An extended heat wave and limited water resources for irrigation created challenges during harvest, along with two to three inches of rain that pushed back ripening for some varieties.
